Here at Nature's Garlic Farm, the hand planting we insist on is a slow & time consuming process, but this ensures each clove sprouts correctly for a bountiful harvest.
The garlic is now ready for harvesting and drying. We start this process with removing the dry stalks before the garlic bulbs are taken from the ground.
The garlic stalk has been removed, and now the Under Cutter loosens them from the soil. After this, the bulbs will be picked up by hand and put on drying racks to cure.
A beautiful breezy spring day makes for a very pleasant afternoon in our garlic field.
